BARAZANI, MOSHE

BARAZANI, MOSHE
BARAZANI, MOSHE (1926–1947), Jew condemned to death by the British in Palestine. Barazani was born in Arbel, Syria, and came to Ereẓ Israel with his parents as a child and lived in Jerusalem. He joined Leḥi and was arrested in 1947 when, during a search, a hand grenade was found in his pocket. He was sentenced to death by a military court after a trial lasting less than two hours. Together with meir feinstein , however, he cheated the gallows by taking his own life on the eve of his intended execution. -BIBLIOGRAPHY: Y. Nedava, Olei-ha-Gardom (1966); Y. Gurion, Ha-Niẓẓaḥon Olei Gardom (1971).
